RPS AT DISTRICT ATHLETICS

Athletics Day 2019
On Wednesday the 21st of August, all of the Grade 5/6’s went to compete at District Athletics. They participated in many events, including long jump, high jump, triple jump, hurdles, shotput, discuss, an 800 metre run and a 100 metre sprint. People who did exceedingly well in their events will go on to division to represent our school at the next level. At the end of all the track and field events, there were some relays to watch. These are the teams that won: 10 year old girls, 11 year old girls, 12 year old girls and the 12 year old boys. Congratulations to all the competitors that made it through, we wish you the best of luck at Division. After all the events, we sat down to find out which school out of the 7 won. Richmond West came 3rd and Collingwood College came second, leaving RPS in first for the 4th time in a row! The best part though was that everyone tried their best and had lots of fun. A special thanks to Gary for setting up and running the day, all the teachers who helped out, and also to all the parent helpers.
