School Review Update

Our pre-Review Self Evaluation is progressing well with a very successful Parent Forum being held last Monday, November 12. Thank you to the 15 parents who attended the session run by our Challenge Partner, Heather Hill.

The evening was a chance to review the priorities for the school that have been raised following consultation with our teaching staff, as well as from a range of DET surveys conducted with all stakeholders.

The group brainstormed their answers to the following question: What skills, attitudes and understandings do we want our students to have by the end of primary school? and the following came through as the agreed ’big’ ideas in relation to our students’ learning:

– Social skills

– Global thinking

– Managing adversity

– Possibilities to become anything

The group also reviewed the Vision Statement for our school with the following being the recommended draft: Richmond Primary School fosters a community of socially responsible, respectful and resilient life-long learners. We develop curious, creative and collaborative students who contribute positively to the community now and in the future as global citizens.

It is now the turn of our students to have their say with interviews with representatives from each Year level of the school about what they see as important in their learning. Their responses, as well as more details of Parent Forum responses to the areas of Student Engagement and Community Engagement will be posted on our School Review web page: https://richmondps.vic.edu.au/school-review-2019/

If you were unable to attend the Parent Forum and would like to share your feedback please review the responses from the night and follow the Feedback Form link on the webpage to let us know what you think.
