Message from the Assistant Principal
A Busy and Exciting Short Term Ahead!
It’s August and we are already deep in the throes of what will be a short but action-packed term at RPS! Even though the weeks are few, our calendar is filled with exciting opportunities for our students to experience.
Our Foundation to Year 2 students will, next week, be taking part in their Swimming Program, building confidence and water safety skills. Year 3/4 students are counting down the days until camp, where they will enjoy new challenges, team activities, and plenty of fun.
The creative talents of our Grade 5/6s will be on display in their Wakakirri performance next Wednesday at the Frankston Arts Centre, and our athletes will be representing us proudly at the District Athletics Day. We’ll also be celebrating the joy of reading and adventure during Book Week – a highlight for many, with costumes, stories, and plenty of book-related fun.
Later in the term, families will have the opportunity to connect with us during Student-Led Conferences, where students will share their learning achievements and goals for the remainder of the year.
With so many wonderful experiences ahead, we know this term will fly by!
Have a great weekend,
Russell
Wellbeing Spotlight: The Power of Kindness
We’re also shining a light on the simple but incredible power of being kind. According to The Resilience Project, small acts of kindness—like a smile or a friendly hello—not only make others feel good, but also make you feel happier, less stressed, and more confident through the release of a special hormone called oxytocin. Even better? Kindness spreads—your good deed might just brighten someone else’s day, who will then go on to share kindness too.

Book Week 2025
Book Week is coming up soon, with this year’s theme being ‘Book an Adventure’ 📖
Our Book Character Dress-Up Day will be held on Friday, the 29th of August, with exciting activities planned, including a costume parade at 9:10 am on the Netball Courts (weather permitting). We would love to see you there to celebrate reading at our school.
If you have any questions, please ask your classroom teacher.
Looking forward to celebrating our love of reading with you all!
